FANTASTICO We've been meaning to stop in here for quite some time and are glad we finally did. The lunch we had today was exquisite. We started with an empanada and for the main course had the Bolognese Piccoli Pasta and the Salad Special of pork & chorizo over greens.Everything was delicious. This place is a real gem. It can be difficult to locate this restaurant. There is a sign on the awning, but not on the windows or doors. Go in anyway! It's welcoming. BTW, it is being discovered and it filled up while we were there. Food - 5 STARS Service - 5 STARS Ambiance - 4 1/2 STARS Location - 3 STARS

Very average. The place had an interesting menu but my Sachetrtini with black truffles had no taste;absolutely not a hint of truffles and my husbands rigatoni was in pieces on his plate. The South American twist doesn't work with Italian here.

Fabulous food in a unlikely location. The bolognese is unbelievable. Had the eggplant and empanadas appetizers - licked our plates! Dessert was also great. No kids menus, but accommodating with substitutions and special requests. You won't be disappointed!

Fort Myers needed a place like this. Friendly, high quality food, not a chain, lots of focus on the details. Was in town for one night on business. Wanted a great meal nearby the Hampton on Colonial. The hotel gave me a list and this was on it. I was really hoping to sit at a nice bar, enjoy a nice meal and some good wine, and this place fit the bill. Restaurant has a great combination of Italian and Spanish food. Gloria, the Spanish/Cuban owner/proprietor greeted me at the bar. She is a delightful, friendly hostess with a quick smile. With her guidance I ordered 3 tapas instead of a full dinner. I had croquetas de queso, eggplant rollatini and garbanzos. I loved all 3. I followed it up with tiramisu. All were great and I am stuffed (not easy to do). The garbanzos were perfect (don't tell my Cuban wife she'll be jealous). Wait, one more thing- the plum/prosciutto/Gorgonzola tapas - phenomenal! If you haven't been there yet check it out. Highly recommended.

I had the special of the night and it was delicious. The portions were big. I tried the pork appetizer as well, OMG. I want to try more dinner entres :) I usually go for lunch but the dinner menu was phenomenal. You must go! The decor is lovely. The waitress was very attentive.

I lived in Fort Myers for several years, but moved to Orlando a year ago. The dining options in Orlando are MUCH better then Fort Myers, yet I haven't found a restaurant here that tops La Trattoria Cafe Napoli. The food is excellent (especially the paella) and the service is top-notch. Gloria and her team really make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. This place is great for a nice dinner for two, or if you just want a few drinks and some tapas they have that too. Also, their tiramisu is the best I've ever had, seriously! If you haven't been here yet please go, you won't be disappointed.

The restaurant is not where you would expect the quality that we found. You step into a different place, a different ambiance than the exterior. Sort of "don't judge a book by its cover." It is a nice casual place - very nice, but not elegant. The food was delicious - very tasty, indeed - and very nicely presented. And, the wine we had was smooth and rich in flavor. Definitely worth a visit.

I have been here twice now with my fiancé and both times have been exceptional! Every dish we have tried has been fantastic. We really like the mussels with chorizo and the stuffed plums. The main dishes here are also amazing and HUGE! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you receive.

I had three tapas dishes. Stuffed plums were a delightful combination of flavors. Smoked salmon came wrapped around baked pear, who would have thought! Another multi flavor delight. Finally, prosciutto with a great cheese. Wife had veal (cut with your fork) with portobello mushroom and mozzarella cheese. A winner.

Wow! Neighbors invited us to join them for dinner at LTCN two nights ago (Friday 7/25). Six people with five different entrees ordered. Plus three different tapas/appetizers. All were delectable! I won't bother going into details of what we ordered because not one of us had a complaint. With 6 people, that's pretty amazing. I loved the atmosphere and decor. Very cozy and inviting. Our waitress, Caitlyn (sp?) was fabulous. She paid impressive attention to our dining needs, and really added to our overall enjoyment of our dinner. The owner, Gloria, came to our table towards the end of dinner and was wonderfully friendly and warm. And as an added bonus: Friday night there was a gentleman playing electric piano. Mellow background music. Not intrusive. Not too loud. Just perfect. We all tipped him as we passed when leaving. What a treat! For anyone who is worried by previous reviewers downgrading the restaurant based on its location: Baloney! This is a perfectly safe area. So what there's a tattoo place in the mall. It's 2015 people. Get a grip. The youngest member of our dining party was 63 and none of us was scared or put off by the neighborhood. Way to go La Trattoria Cafe Napoli! We will be back!

I was sadly a bit disappointed by La Trattoria Cafe Napoli. I had such high hopes after reading all the awesome reviews here. I know the Prosciutto wrapped plums are like the all star here but since I hate gorgonzola cheese I didn't exactly give those a try. We stuck with the tapas menu and maybe that is where we went wrong. I was super excited to try the tuna since the description sounded delicious. The tuna was almost hard and pretty flavorless. Not what I have come to expect from seared tuna. The spare ribs were pretty tasty as were the cheese empanadas. But for the $75 we ended up spending I just don't think I will be back. I will say the service was awesome! The interior is beautiful and defineteley unexpected once you pull up the strip mall.

I love this place! The service and the food are always perfect! Great place for a nice dinner out. I would love to have all of my anniversaries here. Everything you try will surely delight your taste buds! So there's no way to go wrong! Such inventive combinations!!!

I can't say enough about this diamond in the rough. You'd never expect such an amazing restaurant to be tucked away on the side of a strip mall. But OH BOY does this place deliver! Anyone who goes there, I tell them two words: STUFFED PLUMS. the plums are filled with gorgonzola, wrapped in prosciutto, baked and then topped with pesto. Heaven on earth!! I've had a number of dishes on the menu and they've always been amazing. The atmosphere is great and the staff is always very friendly. I would eat there every day if I could!

While it may seem like a hole in the wall the restaurant is quite nice inside. It feels very European or something out if the north end in boston. The staff is very attentive and friendly. They are open and honest on their dishes and go the extra mile to provide a great experience. I'd recommend looking at their pasta dishes which are all very good. I've had the paella twice now and both times while I want to say it's great I would say it's mediocre. However, their pastas are incredible as are their appetizers. The roasted plums with bacon are truly unique and tasty. All in all, a great restaurant for families or a night out for a date.

This place was fantastic! Despite the fairly terrifying location (poorly lit outside, between a dry cleaner and tattoo parlor) this restaurant had a really nice ambiance. We sat at the bar because we didn't realize how busy they'd be - make a reservation if you're going on a Friday or Saturday night. The waitstaff was very friendly; one girl listened to my gregarious 90 year old grandpa talk about the war for almost ten minutes. It was a bit loud though. We ordered from the tapas menu, which was excellent. The stuffed artichoke and bruschetta were particularly good. Wine list wasn't extensive, but nicely priced. I absolutely recommend this place!

La Trattoria Cafe Napoli is truly a hidden gem! While the plaza leaves a lot to be desired, once you enter the restaurant doors it's like you've transported to another city. The unique menu is unlike anywhere I've experienced in this area. The Prosciutto Wrapped Plum Stuffed Gorgonzola was my absolute favorite! This is the perfect spot for a date night or group dinner. Excellent service makes it that much better!

First review I have ever written. Was in Fort Myers and looking for something other than a chain. Stumbled upon this restaurant and had the good fortune of a great meal (veal cutlet with potatoes and vegetables, Caesar salad and I got talked into Cannoli for dessert which was great) and great company. I ate at the bar and Caroline was attentive and helpful. Also had the chance to meet Gloria, the owner. She was personable and fun to visit with. Beyond that got into a very nice conversation with Gloria and friends of hers who were genuine and very hospitable to an out of town guy. I will most certainly be back on my next trip to Fort Myers.

Was expecting a lot more from all the raving reviews but was personally very disappointed in my experience. Food was subpar, service was terrible & we were never checked on after we received our dishes . Felt neglected & unimportant as paying customers. Furthermore, our waiter left as soon as his shift was up waved good bye (from outside in the parking lot) and jetted for his car without a word or transitioning us to one of his colleagues prior to departure or bringing us our check. Lastly I spotted a baby cockaroach crawling up the kitchen door across from the bathroom which was a bit concerning. Not sure ill be able to give this place another try or would recommend to others.

This is a fantastic Spanish restaurant! I had a wonderful salad containing artichokes, eggplant, fresh Parmesan, tomatoes and a variety of greens. Just down right a delight to look at and to eat!

A person could drive by this place 100 times and not realize it was there. The food and service were amazing. Although the fragrance of garlic or a tomato sauce don't greet you at the door, you will not be disappointed. The menu is more along the lines of something you'd find in Europe, certainly Italy. Some dishes have a little twist of Spanish in them. Come expecting awesome food and flavor, as well as service. This is definitely not a typical chain spaghetti-and-meatballs kind of place, nor a pizza place, although you will find rigatoni and some other more typical offerings. You'll find top-notch food at a reasonable cost. I had the veal tuscana. Very tender, and awesome flavors. Nice selection of wine as well. The menu is not overly kid friendly, unless the kid has already been introduced to finer food... Highly recommended. Will be back to sample more of the menu on another trip...

It's not often that I sit at a table, with ten of my friends and enjoy the food more than the conversation. I mean, don't get me wrong ... My friends are great however the food last night was absolutely silencing. The table hushed as we snacked on the artichoke and plum appetizers. As dinner came, our chewing outweighed any chatter across the table. We all shared a little bit of what we had, there wasn't one dish that I didn't enjoy. We will be back, sooner than later.

Great food. We had a choice of going with the tapas or full entree menu. It was a tough choice but the choice of tapas best fit our mood. We were not disappointed. We went with the prosciutto wrapped plums with cheese, pork ribs, goat cheese with peppers in a red sauce and seared tuna. All great dishes! We finished it off with some wine and amazing tiramisu!!

My wife and I are regulars ... Why? Consistently outstanding product and service. Tonight we ordered Del Orto salad with anchovies. As good as we expected. My wife did the red snapper in a livernese sauce, and i ordered the monkfish special, with veggies, shrimp, clams & chorizo in a light tomato broth. Don't get monkfish very often, but this was very tasty. Paired it with an Albariño, worked well together. Tiramisu to finish, and tonight's may be best I have ever had. Anyway, quality and bang for our buck remains consistently high.

Come people and experience the BEST appetizer in Fort Myers. You MUST order the stuffed plumbs! Be warned, your woman may actually stab you with her knife should you try to snag one of hers! I always just LOVE the fish dishes here, and enjoy getting one of the four custom sauces to change things up. They hand make an amazing dessert with a flakey pastry, whip cream, and pears that's so amazing to devour. The place has a great intimate atmosphere that makes it a true find. Why not a 5 star? I don't care for any of the meat dishes I have tried here (yes I dine here often), and the servers are hit or miss. My last visit a week ago was terrible service. No bread with herbs offered, everyone had empty water glasses, we had to pour our own wine from the bottles we ordered, and the waitress would check her phone and hang out chatting at the bar while we needed service. That being said, you can see why the tapas and seafood keeps me coming back regardless.

Restaurant was in a strip mall. Unfortunately there was a bug in my girlfriends glass, and the menus had dirty and food all over them. There was one waitress for the whole restaurant so our meal took longer than normal. The food was decent but it's tough to look past everything else. I'm from the north so when I see 4 1/2 stars... I don't expect this.

I had low expectations for ambiance after reading the reviews, however, despite the dreary strip mall outside, it's actually fine and even cozy inside. Service was very good, although there was only 1 other table there with us. Since we had read that this really is Spanish more than Italian, we ordered more Spanish-style food. I got tapas (eggplant rollantina, bruschetta, the Caesar salad, and baked goat cheese) and my husband had the fish of the day (salmon) in a caper and tomato broth. We both liked the Caesar, which is done in a special way with smoked paprika croutons , thinly chopped Romaine and tomatoes. We also enjoyed the rest of the food, but weren't overly enthusiastic about it. Husband particularly liked (and stole most of) my baked goat cheese's roasted red pepper sauce. Bruschetta can vary in terms of what is considered standard - this one had pesto and sweet aged Balsamic on it in addition to tomatoes, which was fine but not the way I prefer it. The rollantina was all right but had minimal tomato on it and also had sweet aged Balsamic on it, which made it a little weird for us. Overall it was a good dinner and I'd consider going back. I think the main issue was that we were sort of in the mood to splurge on some sort of rich Italian food (at least I was) and instead the menu was on the lighter side for Italian-ish. If that's what you want then the place definitely deserves a check in.

Had dinner with my mom after rediscovering this place thanks to Ron and Kim--who recently moved to Fort Myers. We shared the Caprese salad to start. It was not as good as I make at home--four of the key ingredients were lacking, the tomato, the buffalo mozzarella, the basil and the vinegar were lacking.should know better than to order something that is permanently on the menu That said, the striped bass with vegetables, shrimp and clams that we shared next was among I have ever had. The different seafood components are cooked perfectly and sauce lightly brings everything together. The pasta course was a fresh herb cheese stuffed ravoli that was very good, but a bit heavy--we could not find anything lighter on the menu. My canoli to finish will not be selected again. Espresso was fine. Shared split of prosecco was a bit too acidic for the food--our mistake. This place will be a regular when friends are in town and/or when we do not want to cook--the fish dishes are impressive and would be hard to match and I know that Sarah will like the gnocchi with prunes. Next time I will try more of the tapas now that I realize the owner is more Spanish than Italian. Server was new, but took direction well and was appropriately attentive yet never intrusive.

Don't let the location fool you- nice inside and perfectly prepared food. Veal chop: very juicy, cooked all the way through, did I mention juicy? Had the special with mushrooms, peppers, onion, sausage and potato chips on top. Creative and very good- best meal of our trip. Stuffed plums: good, but a tad rich for me. Menu description is accurate. Caprese salad: simple, with a tasty balsamic drizzle Caesar salad: didn't taste it, but it changed my wife's mood for the better. Mango gelato: classy, with a biscuit and powdered sugar Clearly the chef has a passion for food. Reservations recommended.

THE BEST FOOD IN FORT MYERS. As a New Yorker I must say that this is not only my favorite restaurant in fort Myers but one of my favorite restaurants in general. Tapas menu as well as amazing specials salads homemade pastas etc. flavor explosions all over the menu! Worth every dime. If you consider yourself a "foodie" this is the place for you in fort Myers!

This place is one of our favorite spots for a quality dinner in fort myers. Although the outside location is very deceiving the inside of this restaurant is adorable! I know people are saying this is an Italian restaurant but I believe it is more spanish tapas themed. The tapas are amazing! Definitely try the goat cheese or bruschetta. Arroz con pollo also good! Pretty much everything is good that we have tried and they also have quality wines and beers. The service is very friendly and the prices aren't bad at all. Tapas are all under $10 and main dishes under $25. They have live music that isn't too loud or obnoxious! This place is sophisticated for fort myers and we will continue to go back!

This is my favorite restaurant in Southwest Florida!!! My go to dishes are the nightly specials and any seafood or fish dish uniquely prepared with a variety of deliciously interesting sauces including plums, garbanzo beans, garlic, wine and fresh herbs...etc. The sacchetti pasta is great comfort food as well as the paella. There is no better veal calabrese on the planet!!! And if that is not enough, a wide range of flavorful and luscious tapas and reasonably price wines from Europe and around the globe. The wait staff are true professionals, courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating. It is common to find the owner Gloria making her rounds to welcome each guest and the hospitality that she delivers spreads a genuine warmth that feels like you were just welcomed to her lively dinner party. It is a wonderful all around dinning experience, a must!!!!!

Best food in Fort Myers - absolutely phenomenal. We drove by signs for a "Tapas and Wine Bar" several times before finally pulling in to try it after MadFreshTakeOut was closed. From the tapas menu we had: Gorgonzola stuffed plums, wrapped in Proscuitto - This is a must order. We ended up ordering another round of these because they were so delicious. Such a rich balance of taste and textures. Short ribs - incredibly tender and juicy Green beans - these were battered and fried - a very good side, but would have benefitted from a sauce/glaze on their own Baked Goat Cheese - covered in red pepper sauce, delicious From that point on, all the entrees were just as delicious. My wife raved about the Truffles Cheese Sacchetti (handmade pasta filled with truffles, ricotta, & mozzarella). For desert, we had the delicious homemade Tiramisu (very nice notes of brandy). They also offer cannolis, flan, cheesecake, and panna cotta. The food is so good I was shocked. I kept wondering through dinner what this amazing restaurant was doing in a beleaguered strip mall in an area full of disappointing restaurants. Only critiques: could use a bit more ambiance - and I don't believe they have a full bar. Difficult to locate off of 41 (make sure you know where to turn ahead of time).

I was in town from Orlando to celebrate my birthday with family and, because my boyfriend and I are big on supporting local restaurants over predictable chains, I did quite a bit of research and decided that Gloria's appeared to fit the bill based off of terrific reviews. Our party of 5 was seated promptly upon arrival, and I was hopeful that this was indeed a hidden gem in the otherwise barren southwest Florida food landscape because it was fairly hoppin'. Not slammed by any means but, busy enough. We ordered the stuffed plums and fried calamari tapas as our appetizers shortly after we sat down, then ordered our main courses around 7:20pm. The plums were pretty tasty, and fried calamari were the standard- lightly battered and crispy. Then we waited. And waited. Around 8:10pm, our server stopped by to let us know that our main courses would be out shortly. Around 8:15pm, he hesitantly said that they would be another 5-10minutes. Now, myself and another one of my dinner companions had worked in the restaurant business before so, we know are very familiar with the standard ebb and flow of a kitchen, and the steps that must be taken to ensure the diners remain informed and placated should the staff find themselves in the weeds. We also know that hey, this isn't fast food so, a 30-40min wait to delicious, hot food is sometimes totally necessary and normal. By the 50min mark however, we had had enough. Around 8:20pm, we informed our server that we'd like to just pay for what we've consumed so far, and be on our way. Shortly after, Gloria arrived at it table and, rather than apologizing for the extended wait and asking what she could do to turn our experience around, she asked us "So, what happened with your food?". We told her that we have been waiting for nearly an hour and there has been no other food besides the tapas so, we'd like to leave at this time. Again, rather than taking your standard empathetic manager/owner approach, we were met with a series of extremely defensive replies: "No no, I just checked your ticket and you guys ordered only 45min ago" (Ha!), "Well, you guys do have a party of 5 so, it's going to take longer", "We only have 1 cook on tonight so, 45minute wait is very standard and to be expected", "Well, your food is up next so, why don't you wait?", "We have been in business for 8 years and have never had people walk out before because of this.". It was really unbelievable, especially given that we are a pretty dang easy-going group with a very reasonable reason to leave. We had also watched at least 3 other tables who has arrived after us get their food well before we never did. In summary, I would absolutely not go back, and am very disappointed in the way that Gloria mishandled the situation. My advice to her, from a business perspective, would be 1. the customer is always right, 2. if you only have 1 chef on duty and he/she is struggling, get your butt back in that kitchen to assist them rather than nonchalantly schmoozing the guests, 3. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. And my advice to future patrons who are considering going to Gloria's is- just don't. Do not let the words "truffle" and "hand made" fool you into thinking that 45+ minute wait time is acceptable. Yes, Fort Myers is in desperate need of creative, local restaurants however, this one is not worth patronizing.

I want to eat where the 14 other reviewers went, because it sure wasn't here. As stated prior, there is zero curb appeal....the interior dining room is not much better. I advise not to look up at the dirty, stained ceiling tiles or the unappealing yellow walls. The food is a combination of processed and homemade. Crunchy cubes of bread were served with overly salted olive oil. Stuffed artichokes tasted right out of the can (briny) with blue cheese. Dinner was better but not by much. My truffle stuffed pasta was in a bowl of tomato, prosciutto water (Why?). The staff had to keep apologizing to the tables for running out of beer selections, and not having the wine on the menu. With the dining area being small, it was easy to overhear every table's conversations...this was not the experience I was hoping for. (There seemed to be a lot of unhappy people having dinner around me). My dinner date tried to sum it up by saying....for Fort Myers, it was adequate. This should not be the barometer...since Fort Myers is still improving...and yes, I still remember and miss Peter's LaCuisine.

First of all I wouldn't classify this as an Italian restaurant in the traditional sense. I will tell you, however, that I was very pleasantly surprised at how delicious their food was on my first visit. We started out with an appetizer of plums filled with goat cheese and wrapped in Prosciutto and drizzled with a balsamic and olive oil. I had the nightly fish special of Mahi-Mahi and they give you three sauces to choose from. The food hit my palate like a fine paint brush hits a canvass. It was beautifully delicious. The decor isn't anything to write home about and it was a little musty inside but we went for the food and were extremely delighted.

A very nice quiet Italian restaurant. The food was quite good. The portion sizes were completely reasonable and the flavored were not not "overdone". The wait staff was extremely helpful and patient and had no problems with substitutions. The interior and decor is perhaps not as nice as other upscale restaurants. However for the price and quality of the food it was very reasonable.

Trattoria stakes out a geographic region previously unknown: the border of spain and Italy. I was first here when this was a tiny shop, barely bigger than the average living-room. They have since expanded into the space next-door, the the experience remains topnotch, and cheap to boot.

My party and I arrived at 5:30pm. I ordered the stuff plum and the paella. The stuffed plum was terrible. The ham was cooked so much that it tasted like cardboard and THEN they gave me the paella! It was dry and crispy! How could this be? We were the first customers to arrive. It is my opinion that they fed me food from the afternoon buffet. That is the only possibility. I wouldn't go back. I was screwed.

This is the kind of review that gives a foodie shivers! The only negative is that people will read it and find out about this hidden gem; bu Gloria, the owner deserves all the publicity she can get! Th city of Ft.Meyers is well known for its crime, and poverty. It makes the news regularly, and unfortunately, in the area of the Barbara B. Mann center for the Arts, is a beacon of hope in what is pretty much a gastronomic wasteland. We have been attending shows and concerts there for several years, and about a year ago found this little nondescript restraunt in a little strip mall between a veterinarian and a Chinese take out place. What an intro for a restaurant. It's all good from here, The owner, Gloria, is a classically trained, Cuban/Swedish enterpreneur who exemplifies what a good restranteur does. She entertains you with stories, jokes, and a huge smile, while making you feel like one of the family! The food is simply amazing; 24 tapas/small plates to choose from (and inexpensive by the way), plus a full regular menu. Despite the name of the place, this is Spanish , more than Italian They have a small but wonderful wine list, also by the glass, and again reasonably priced .But its, the food and the service where they really excel. The intense seasonings, the baalnce of flavors, and the well sized portions make you want to try everything; and we have come pretty close. For a party of four last night, we had 2 main courses, a bottle of wine and 4 tapas. With a generous tip- $75.00 a couple!! You must try the plums wrapped in bacon and stuffed with gorgonzola, the short ribs in a mojo sauce,calamari=-spicy but light and dry, and their garbanzo beans are to die for. As a main dish we had the Gambas in red pepper sauce. We just booked a trip to Sapin to continue this eating extravaganza. No, I am not a cousin of Glorias; just a passionate foodie who says- this is good as it gets. One regret, she refuses to move to Naples so i have to drive 35 minutes. Oh well!! Ken K. Naples,Fl

This little gem is in a hard-to-find location, but well worth the search. Every detail of the meal is sophisticated and flavorful. Even the fresh ground pepper, served in a little bowl, was interesting - with a small hot kick a few seconds after eating it. The pasta is fresh and the pesto has a big basil taste. The salsa verde, and the red sauce, both served on the fish of the day, have depth and complexity, though the salsa verde is a little heavy on the oil. the accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked. A standout among the desserts is a raspberry gelato ball, encased in a chocolate shell. Cannoli are good, too, and are prepared to order. Once inside, the ambiance is nice, like a charming trattoria.

This was a favorite which was why the other night was a major disappointment. We were looking forward to a nice meal. Everything went wrong. I think Gloria must be on vacation.. First we overheard the table next to us ordering a beer. They said they didn't have beer because somebody is on vacation. Not sure if that's an excuse any restaurant should ever have to give. We ordered off the menu. I didn't think it was anything hard to prepare since they usually have the fish of the day with 4 standard sauces. It took a LONG time for the food to come out. When my cod did come, it was completely rubbery. I'm not even sure what happened to the texture. It was supposed to be the fish of the day but it seemed like it was overcooked cod that had freezer burn. My boyfriend had a chicken dish. A lot of the times when we are deciding between two dishes, the accompanying side dish makes our decision for us. The carrot purée sounded interesting so he ordered the chicken dish with that particular side dish in mind. After we ordered and have been waiting for awhile, the waitress came back out and apologized. She let us know that there was no carrot purée available. The chicken dish came out with the standard potatoes and vegetables. We love food and when we get disappointed it kind of sticks with us for awhile. I'm not sure that I'll ever want to go back again. This was a particularly bad experience.

This is a hidden gem! The food was awesome and the service excellent. It might be a bit pricey, but worth every penny. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I would recommend this place to almost any foodie. Stumbled upon here on Yelp, and it did not disappoint. The decor is plain but comfortable. Menu is very interesting and not overwhelming. A blend of Italian and Spanish cuisine. Food had very good flavor. Wine list was a tad disappointing but you can find something that you like. We had the Malbec. The prices on the wine list were reasonable. This is above average food at very reasonable prices. Much better than the Italian chains. Sort of hard to find in non descript strip mall on the North side of 41 just south of Crystal Lane. The reviews on here below are legit, this place is worth a try.

My boyfriend and I were coming into the Fort Meyers area for the day and I knew we would be eating dinner there so being the foodie that I am, I started doing research of the best restaurants in the area. As I read thru the many sites and articles I kept coming across Gloria's or La Trattoria Cafe Napoli. My boyfriend and I have pretty high expectations when it comes to food and this place DID NOT disappoint! Let me start by saying don't let the strip mall its in fool you because this restaurant delivers. As soon as you open the door you'll be pleasantly surprised by the inviting decor and soothing atmosphere. We decided to sit at the bar rather than a table. We were greeted right away. I asked the server what was good and he said everything, and he was definitely right! We started with a couple of appetizers, the stuffed plums and stuffed artichokes. The plums were out of this world and the artichokes were mouth watering. Next came our caesar salad complete with fresh anchovies on top. Again, delicious! For the main entree we went with one of their fresh pasta dishes. Homemade melt in your mouth pasta might I add! Only exquisite would sum up this dish. As if all of that wasn't enough, we couldn't possibly leave without trying a piece of freshly made tiramisu...so we did. The perfect ending to a delicious meal! Overall the restaurant was super clean and very inviting. Service was attentive and top notch. Food was amazing!!!!

I decided to try La Trattoria Cafe Napoli a few weeks ago. It was a wonderful experience! The service, the meal, the wine and dessert (coconut flan & the raspberry truffle was out of this world!) were fantastic!! I can not wait to go again!!! And yes, I would highly recommend the stuffed plums!

Very good food. Ambiance not so great. Also, a Spanish restaurant that serves tapas should offer sangria. All four of us enjoyed our dinners. Mussels with chi orzo and port wine and stuffed plums from the tapas menu were enjoyed by all.

Wonderful food! We found this restaurant through yelp and thought we would give it a try. We happened to luck out and were able to sit at the bar. Note: make a reservation next time. The lady who was behind the bar helped us select our wine - said it was her favorite. It was beautiful and crisp. With her help, we decided to order the baked goat cheese, the truffled cheese sacchetti, and one of the specials special of the night - veal and vegetables. It turned out that our server was the owner of the location, Gloria. She did an amazing job of designing the menu and we loved every bite. Ultimately, I would have never found this place on my own but so glad I did! We will be making special trips back to Fort Myers just for the food here. Thanks Gloria!

This place is a hidden treasure of Fort Myers: hard to find but worth the search. We have been eating there for several years. It is one of our favorite places to go for a special night out. The menu selection and food quality is top notch in a city filled with chain restaurants, and is privately owned and operated. We have always had excellent service, attention and a delicious meal. My spouse loves the paella, the quail egg fettuccine Alfredo is wonderful, the special is always awesome. Lunch is a great deal, as I can grab a quick empanada and soup, usually for around $10. Once we saw a couple come in a pick up a whole pig that the chef had roasted, presumably for a party. Please note that you will need reservations for a Saturday night, especially in season. And it is small, although recently expanded, but sometimes it can be hard to have a private conversation when the restaurant is full.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
